Behind the Artist

Katie Best is an Atlanta-based artist who graduated from Oglethorpe University with a BA in Medical and Scientific Illustrations.

Katie specializes in oil and acrylic paintings, graphite and charcoal drawings, film photography, and digital media.

The delicate balance of art and science in everyday life inspires her to create work that reflects this observation. Since a young age, she has explored this relationship and with her professional aspirations of being a full-time medical animator, Katie hopes to achieve inspiring others to appreciate this conversation of scientific art.

Message from the Artist.

As a recent college graduate with honors in Medical and Scientific Illustrations, accompanied by a minor in Biology, I am passionate about merging my artistic talents with my scientific knowledge to create visually captivating and informative representations of complex medical and scientific concepts. With a keen eye for detail and a strong foundation in biology, I excel in translating intricate scientific information into engaging visual content that educates, informs, and inspires.

My academic journey has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Through extensive coursework and hands-on projects, I have honed my skills in traditional and digital illustration techniques, 2D modeling, and vector animation, allowing me to bring scientific concepts to life in captivating ways.

I am well-versed in industry-standard software and tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and digital painting programs. Additionally, my strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously have consistently enabled me to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
